Focus on GAMP requirements
BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN implements GUS-OS Suite
BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN GmbH has replaced its existing standard software and now uses GUS-OS Suite, a processoriented ERP system from the GUS Group, to map its business processes. In addition to the standard business functions, the pharmaceutical manufacturer also uses the laboratory module of the GUS, among other things. BIO DIÄT-BERLIN also paid particular attention to the requirements according to GAMP 5 (GAMP = Good Automated Manufacturing Practice, guidelines for the validation of computer-aided systems in the pharmaceutical industry). Currently 26 users are working with GUS-OS Suite.
Industry know-how was the deciding factor
“GUS-OS Suite already covers a multitude of pharmaceutical-specific requirements in the standard version,” says Reiner Pfeiffer, Project Manager at BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN, explaining the decision for the new ERP solution. “In addition, the GUS has numerous references in the pharmaceutical industry. The compliance of standard guidelines such as GAMP 5 was therefore a matter of course for the ERP specialist.” For BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN, the laboratory information and management system (LIMS) integrated into GUS-OS Suite was also an important aspect: The application not only improves and streamlines workflows, but also makes validation considerably easier. Today, only the ERP application needs to be checked in the laboratory instead of different individual systems.
Ready for the future
Another special feature: While sample orders and classic batches could not yet be distinguished, BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN can now create special sample batches for the laboratory. These can be clearly defined in the system. The company’s web shop was also connected to the ERP system. The pharmaceutical manufacturer has thus created the basis for a very convenient and clear ordering process into the ERP system. All in all, GUS-OS Suite provides a significantly higher process trans-parency for BIO-DIÄT-BERLIN. In addition, the ERP application is fully browser-capable and can therefore be scaled and extended without restrictions. “With GUS-OS Suite 6.0, we are relying on a modern and futureproof solution with which we are well prepared for future requirements,” says Pfeiffer. “Among other things, we are planning to connect our external scales to the system.” “We are pleased that we were able to support another pharmaceutical manufacturer with our IT and pharmaceutical knowledge and we will of course continue to support and advice the team of BIO DIÄT BERLIN,” adds Jörg Paul Zimmer, Managing Director of GUS Deutschland GmbH.
