Sulser Logistics Solution AG implements a portal with GUS-OS

Sulser Logistics Solutions AG of Otelfingen (Switzerland) has implemented order portals for leading automobile companies. Via these "full-service eTools," Swiss automobile dealers can order snow tires – with all tires mounted on the appropriate brand rims, of course. With GUS-OS, the GUS Group delivers the software for electronic order handling. The solution was installed by GUS Schweiz AG.

The service for the Swiss automobile dealers was developed by Sulser Logistics Solutions AG via the logistics center in Brunegg, a fully-automatic high bay warehouse with 8,800 pallet spaces and a pallet rack warehouse for more than 6,000 units in 13,000 sq. meters of storage space. The tire manufacturers deliver their products there and the automobile companies the rims. After booking in incoming goods, the goods are stored. From there, assembly is initiated as necessary; that is, the tires are mounted on the rims. According to the orders, the employees of Sulser Logistics Solutions AG then provide the desired tire sets for delivery to the dealers. Distribution takes place across Switzerland.

For the implementation of electronic order handling for the Sulser full-service eTool, the goal was a simple and time-saving flow. With GUS-OS, the dealers now need just four steps to order:
1. Recording of the delivery date
2. Selection of the delivery address
3. Determination of the item(s) to be delivered
4. Transmission of the order

For security, GUS-OS requires a confirmation before triggering the order. The login also ensures security: only authorized users may place orders. With several incorrect inputs, access to the eTool is blocked.

With the new solution, the dealers also always have a current overview of the status of open orders as well as of the available stock of snow tires. The basis for this transparency is the uniform data pool of GUS-OS.
