Again this year, the GUS Group Warehouse Management System (WMS) was successfully validated by the Team warehouse logistics. Thus, customers have the security of knowing that the system has controlled WMS functionality.
Through their interdisciplinary composition of logisticians, engineers and computer scientists, the Team warehouse logistics, founded by the Fraunhofer-Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), together with the IPL Consultants b.v., ensure competent, holistic analyses of material flow and logistic challenges.
The validation check was carried out in the course of a workshop at the GUS Group in Cologne. In talks and on the system, a comprehensive survey from the Team warehouse logistics was used to check the functionality. Then, at the beginning of August 2008, the rating “validation seal” was conferred.

An as-is analysis of the warehouse, selection of a WMS and implementation, including an operating test, all belong to the range of services by the experts when implementing a new system. The basis for selecting the system is the online WMS-selection, which was compiled by the Team. The basis for the database of the possible selections is an international marketing study, in which all WMS-providers were able to participate.
