GUS-OS Planning – Factors in the Plan
Be quicker with Quality

Schedulers in the Processing sector are not only under pressure to change they also have to take into consideration many internal as well as external factors. Company targets such as turnover, budgets, production etc., have to be taken into consideration as well as the effects of the relationships with partners and customers. Additionally the related logistics has become more complex. Outside factors such as legislation, technical advancements, competition and finance are increasingly having more influence on the planning of production processes.

This was the aim of the GUS Group when developing GUS-OS Planning. The solution extends the potential of the lot-oriented ERP system GUS-OS ERP . By integrating planning into the platform-independent GUS-OS ERP companies in the Processing industries receive a much more powerful solution. It offers improved information, optimization methods and the simulation of turnover, material and resource planning.

For companies in the sectors of pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, cosmetics, biotechnology and logistics GUS-OS Planning means that all factors have been taken into consideration and are in the plan.

  • Coverage
GUS-OS Planning can calculate the range of coverage for individual materials based on current stock. This can be displayed graphically on the screen or in table form and can also be saved as an Excel file as for multi-material summaries.

  • Warning Functions
When resources are overloaded GUS-OS Planning immediately warns the scheduler and informs him which customer orders are affected. Even if order deviations should occur, the scheduler quickly receives the necessary information.

  • Ad-hoc Inquiries
GUS-OS Planning has optimal inquiry capabilities for customers and suppliers. Ad-hoc inquiries (available to promise, capability to promise) regarding the supply capability, material and resource availability can be answered immediately.

  • Critical Materials and Resources
Goods that have been marked as having high replacement costs or replacement times can be defined in multi-material structures. It is then possible to schedule alternative material or resources at short notice.

  • Optimizing Production Orders
GUS-OS Planning offers functions to reduce set up and cleaning times. For campaign planning (sequence optimization), orders within a certain period are optimized and then loaded according to a pre-defined setup matrix. Product changes as well as lot changes are taken into consideration.
