CHARISMA Web Portals
CHARISMA Web

Soon company solutions will not only optimize the business processes in companies but will increasingly link suppliers and customers together. The GUS Group has extended CHARISMA with Web Portals for the Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationships. The advantages: through closed user networks (Extranets) partners have access to selected functions and relevant data from a browser and it is protected by a security layer to ward off any unauthorized access or hostile attacks. For example:
  • Sales Representative Portal:
Using a laptop any employee working outside the office can access, over the Internet, information regarding customers, products, samples, accompanying documents and order data. And of course orders entered online are immediately available in the central database.

  • Customer Portals:
Using the current company data, customer related information can be provided – for example delivery status, last transacted orders, product lists and additional information. New orders can be entered directly.

  • Supplier’s Portal:
Suppliers of components and packing materials can be in direct communication. Purchase status, delivery amounts, delivery dates and blanket orders are displayed as well as sales plans and plan quantities.

  • Order Finishing Portal:
Order finishers can be in direct communication. Order status, delivery amounts, delivery dates and orders are displayed as well as sales plans and plan quantities.

  • Logistics Portal:
Forwarders can retrieve updated information regarding requested transport capacities at any time. Within the framework of the logistics outsourcing, operators can inspect data that will then allow them to plan early in regard to warehouse and personnel resources.
The communication chain goes even further – with the CHARISMA Web Portals specific web portals can be combined to make available to doctors and chemists informa-tion about medications, drugs as well as recently published scientific reports. The portals are maintained directly from CHARISMA and other data sources. CHARISMA portals bundle functions according to specific tasks and target groups. The secured access, according to operational use, is carried out over the Internet (closed user groups i.e. Intranet, Extranet). To give extra protection against unauthorized access to vital company data the GUS Group has developed an extensive security concept. This security layer is part of the Portal packet 2.0.

Security Layer ensures access protection to the offered portals. The DMZ security concept (demilitarized zone) not only authenticates the user at login but also stops all out bound actions that do not belong to the functionality of the portal. This is achieved by physically separating the portal and CHARISMA on two separate servers and secured with Firewalls. Only dedicated approved functions can be called (stored procedures) all other activities are refused.

Script Languages allow quick and flexible modification of the portal. Access to Stored Procedures in CHARISMA, organizing the portal and linking additional content from other data sources (applications) is easily done with modern script languages (net.Data, PHP…). The GUS Group offers training sessions for this.

Additional portals can be incorporated at any time.
