Additional Tool
GUSGUI changes AS/400 applications into a version with a graphical user interface. On the AS/400 GUI recognizes the standard function keys in the SAA standard and converts them into radio or push buttons to give an intuitive user interface. This quickly gives a new ergonomic presentation of a graphical user interface that is in part automated and has the look and feel of a Windows application with mouse sup-port, graphical displays, windows and scroll features. It is possible to integrate icons and activate them by mouse click and thus make complex connections on screen. GUSGUI runs under TCP/IP and thus supports direct Internet access.
GUSGUI supports 24x80 and 27x132 formats, and for radio order picking and similar applications, it supports larger special screen layout. Using colored mandatory and optional fields as well as individual windows helps input validation.
Especially with regard to security and usability GUS provides with GUSGUI the pos-sibility to integrate individual, cursor-sensitive user help. Additional documentation was achieved by integrating user documentation and function overviews in context with the relevant application situation.
By integrating the workflow tool CHARISMA Visualizer, it is possible to display menu structures dynamically – this means after changing the actual workflow. Business process oriented functions can then be analyzed with the Visualizer and then pre-sented in GUSGUI as a menu. The CHARISMA Navigator can call individual functions directly using icons.
GUS uses GUSGUI as a graphical front-end for the sector solution CHARISMA on the AS/400, which has been developed to meet the requirements of the processing industry. CHARISMA not only has the look and feel of a Windows application it also simplifies the integration of existing PC applications that can then be called directly from the CHARISMA menu. Through GUSGUI, CHARISMA or any other optional SAA-conform AS/400 application can be presented with ergonomic criteria according to DIN 66234, part 8 that gives the standards for designing work interfaces on the screen.
GUSGUI runs under TCP/IP and thus allows direct access from the Internet.
